I am writing a children’s book about rock/stone balancing. I have seen several posts/articles claiming that rock balancing is bad because in moving rocks we are destroying natural habitat and places where tiny organisms live. Is this a valid concern? Are we supposed to disassemble stacks whenwe are finished? I understand a new policy in US national parks is to disassemble all rock stacks including cairns. This seems ridiculous. Please help me understand and clarify what is the best practice. Does BAWI have any documents regarding stone stacking? My grandson and I learned rock stacking in NY with Robert Kauffman in 2011. We have been teaching practicing it everywhere we go since then. We love it! Thanks for any help you can offer. Teresa Werth
